1938 – The song “A Tisket a Tasket” performed by Ella Fitzgearld hits #1.

1951 – The very first color TV broadcast came out of NYC to 4 different cities, the show was Author Godfrey.

1960 – The first Broadway play performed by a black woman, “A Raisin in the Sun” closes for the last time at the Belasco Theater in NYC, the show had over 500+ performances!

1967 – The first ever global satellite broadcast took place, the show was “Our World” and included The Beatles performing the song “All You Need Is Love”.

1971 – Stevie Wonder releases his hit single, “Where I’m Coming From”.

1975 – Barry White releases his hit song, “Can’t get enough of your love baby”

1976 – “The Omen” starring Gregory Beck premiered in The United States.

1982 – Ridley Scott’s film “Blade Runner” starting Harrison Ford was released to the public.

1984 – Prince releases his album, “Purple Rain”, which has been argued to be one of his, if not one of the greatest all time selling records.

1988 – The famous Roger Rabbit series debuted in America with the famous film “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”.

1993 – “Late Night with David Letterman” airs for the last time on NBC networks.

1996 – The film “Independence Day” starring Will Smith, Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum premieres for the first time in California.

2020 – Country Music all female group “The Dixie Chicks” change their name to “The Chicks” in an attempt to remove references or links to confederate history.
