About the Artist

The Belgium-born, Canadian, New York-raised, and Tennessee residing artist (a mouthful, we know) first began her musical endeavors in the second grade, when she started piano lessons. She found herself constantly replacing her practice repertoire with her own original melodies, and by fourth grade, she had fallen in love with writing her own lyrical pop songs. In 2016, at the age of 17, she relocated to Memphis to pursue a college education in Music Business. Around this time, she adopted the artist name EEZABELLE (the phonetic spelling of her commonly mispronounced given name, Isabelle). Drawing inspiration from the likes of Halsey, Noah Cyrus, Demi Lovato & Hozier, she explores the complexities & controversies of the human experience in her new music. Singles like “The Perfect Child” and “Alexa” give a taste of EEZABELLE’s sophomore EP, Temptation, which released 11.4.22. EEZABELLE now lives in Nashville, TN, where she plays regular showcases and continues to record music.

Featured Songs

Eezabelle performed several songs for us while here in the studio during our Red Couch Sessions. The opening track to the Temptation EP, “The Perfect Child” is an anthem of defiance- following a fictional character as she makes a dramatic exit from the church. This song introduces the theme of the project immediately, discussing some controversies of the toxic religious setting. Another single from the Temptation EP, “Alexa” is the one true love song of the record. Finding romance against all odds, where you least expect it, and where anyone looking to judge leasts expects it too. This is the first love song I’ve ever written about a girl. I like to refer to this song, my favorite original to perform, as my “bisexual anthem”. This unreleased track is another favorite of mine. It resonates specifically with songwriters, so I love to play it acoustic. It’s a lighthearted, funny warning about why you should never break a songwriter’s heart… Basically, we’ll heal from the hurt by writing an amazing song about you, that doesn’t hesitate to tell the full truth, good or bad.
