1959 – West Side Story closes at Winter Garden Theater in NYC after over 700 performances.

1969 – The Denver Pop Festival opens in Denver, Colorado with over 50,000 attendees in attendance. Star performances for the festival include Joe Crocker, Jimi Hendrix and more.

1973 – “Live and Let Die” the 8th installment of James Bond films premieres in The United States, this was the first James Bond movie with Roger Moore portraying Bond.

1987 – “The Living Daylights” which is the 15th installment in the James Bond film series premieres in London.

2008 – The Glastonbury Festival in Pilton, England opens up with performances by Jay Z, The Kings of Leon, Neil Diamond and a host of other performances.
