1953 – Pop icon Cyndi Lauper was born in New York City, she is known for her famous song “Girls just want to have fun”.

1955 – Walt Disney’s famous film “The Lady and the Tramp” released to the general public!

1959 – “Class” the first hit by singer/performer Chubby Checker hits 38 in the all time high billboard that year.

1963 – Stevie Wonder releases his first hit “Fingertips” at the age of 13, which was the first non-live studio recording to ever go #1 on the billboard charts.

1969 – Aretha Franklin was arrested in Detroit for “creating a disturbance” as the report states.

1973 – Host of MTV’s “Total Request Live (TRL)” Carson Daily was born in Santa Monica, CA.

1977 – Walt Disney’s film “Rescuers” was released to the general public, this was the first Disney movie to have a sequel produced.

1979 – Little Richard decides to quit music and pursue other avenues for his religious beliefs.

1981 – Mark David Chapman decided to pled guilty in the murder and shooting death of Beatle John Lennon.

1990 – Adam Sandler joined the cast of Saturday Night Live for the first time.
